Grade 1–12 Process for Applications for Admission for September 2027
Thank you so much for your interest in Deer Lake School!
Families considering applying to Deer Lake School for Grades 1-12 should attend one of our one-hour Open House events in November. Families will take a short tour of the school, experience everyday school life at DLS, and learn about the application process from school administrators.
We require all families applying to DLS to attend an open house before they submit their application so that they fully understand our DLS culture, philosophy and programs.
Step 1: Attend an Open House
Families applying for Grades 1–12 must attend one of our November 2026 Open House tours. During your Open House visit, you will:
- Tour the school with our high school ambassadors
- Experience everyday school life at DLS
- Learn about our programs, culture, and the admissions process from administrators

Step 2: Submit an Application
After attending an Open House, complete the Deer Lake School Application Form (available on our Admissions webpage). Email your completed form and all required documents to Mrs. Christina Luk, Registrar, at admissions@deerlakeschool.ca.
If documents are not in English, they must be translated by a certified translation organization and verified by a notary public. The school will verify original documents at final registration.
Application Deadline: Thursday, February 1, 2027
Step 3: Personal Interview
Families will be contacted to schedule a 20-minute personal interview. This meeting, with you and your child, allows our administrative team to:
- Get to know you and your child
- Review your family’s needs and expectations
- Review our mission and philosophy of education with you
- Address any specific questions you may have about our school
Additional assessments may be requested if needed.
Interviews will be scheduled weekdays February 22-March 5, 2027
Step 4: Notification of Acceptance
Families will be notified with details of your child’s eligibility for the September 2027–2028 school year.
Acceptance is based on space availability and program suitability. Waitlists may apply.
